Challenges

Challenge #1

In an effort to promote the Arts and Sciences in our fair Kingdom, we have once again decided to throw down the gauntlet and challenge you all at the upcoming Kingdom Arts & Science Competition.

This year - to broaden the field - you may enter three categories of your choice and we will enter three categories of our choice (total of three entries each). Should your cumulative score beat either of ours,
we will offer you a most noble prize.

There is the opportunity to win two prizes. If there are more than two with scores higher than ours, we
will pick our two favorites.

Other rules: *You must identify yourself in advance~ this can be done on the
morning of the competition

Sponsored by Baroness Etheldred NicEoghainn and Rosalind Mihrimah

Challenge #2 In a further effort to promote the Arts and Sciences, I offer another challenge for the upcoming Kingdom Arts and Sciences Competition:

In order to promote concentrated study of a single place and time period, I will be offering a prize for Best Burgundian in any category.

That is ANY CATEGORY! (Not just Clothing) Should your project get the highest score, I will provide a
prize of grand proportions. I will also be offering a smaller prize of recognition to the highest scoring
Novice entry in the Best Burgundian competition.

The Rules:
1. Everyone can enter this competition, even THL Margot.
2. Entries MUST focus on 15th century Burgundy. No substitutions.
3. Please identify yourself in advance (can be at the door), and state
whether your entry is a novice entry or not.

Sponsored by THL Gwyneth Carr

Challenge #3 I wanted to put out another challenge for everyone to have fun with. My challenge is going to be for
narrow wares:). As with all the other challenges, who ever gets the best score will get a really cool prize.

Rules:
Narrow wares = all the nifty small things and trims we make. Examples are cords, tablet weavings, warp-faced weavings ( inkles), braids and the like.

Tell me at A&S that you want to enter.

Whoever makes the highest score will win a cool and nifty prize. The prize for the highest score will be
a period box loom made by my dear husband Dale!!! This loom is similar to the one that I displayed at
A&S a couple of years ago:). I can't wait to see all the nifty things ya'll come up with

Sponsored by THL Margot

  Challenge #4

In keeping with the challenges that are being issued for Kingdom Arts and Sciences, I will once again be sponsoring a competition for the top scoring novice costumer be it in static display or in costume review.

Sponsored by THL Charles de Bourbon

  Challenge #5

I would like to offer a challenge to my brother and sister Squires. Best score among entering squires to
win a prize.

Sponsored by Eduin le Younghe

Challenge #6 I'm again going to give a prize to (what I deem to be) the best embroidery in any medium. This includes pieces being specifically entered as embroidery, but also works done on clothing being entered, etc.
And to break from everyone else, you need not find me the day of the competition. If it's got embroidery
on it, and it's in the competition, I'll make sure to look at it! Have fun!
